EP #005 - AIA 2019 Interview | Michele Grace Hottel

As we continue our special series of podcast's recorded live from the national AIA Expo 2019 from the Panda Windows & Door booth, we are pleased to have Michele Grace Hottel on the show. Michele is one of our top social media fans, that loves the industry of architecture and construction. Michele is a sole proprietor architect that has been practicing architect for the past +25 years, and is based out of La Mesa, CA. She embraces the natural progression of technology to enhance her business and increase her out reach. She is a very caring individual that allows her clients red carpet service on every project she is a part of. What really caught my attention with Michele is that she has a blog called: "I've never met a women architect before..." It is a blog that chases the stories and real life experiences of being a women in the field of architecture, as she pairs it with being a Mother & Wife. We actually get a special visit from her kids in the episode, as we discuss her journey - of which seems to be timed, but is really 100% coincidental. She shares her history of schooling, struggling with math at young age, but an overwhelming love for drawing & art that pushed her to the profession of architecture. We touch on the feud of "what is the real Cal Poly?" (We hope to hear from you Cal Poly peeps...in the comments.) We thank Michele for her value that she brings to the architecture industry, and for sharing her vision along the way...and joining us on the Edify Studios Podcast. Enjoy the show!!

EP #001 Design Assist | The People

Overall, Design Assist is a huge topic, that can feel like drowning & parenting at the same time. It is the topic that is the proverbial 'Elephant in the Room' that you need special glasses to see. Design Assist EP.#001 - The People - is the first Episode in the "Design Assist Series" of podcast's. Where are talking about: "People (Knowing the players): Being networked with the all of the project influencer’s – owner/owners rep, GC, architect, consultant, subcontractor, adjacent influencing material manufactures." - www.edify-studios.com Here at Edify Studios, the key to our success has been, and will be, to focus on 100% customer satisfaction, of which is achieved through three key tenants:

PREPARATION • COLLABORATION • CONSISTENCY OF PROCESSES

We recognize when anyone of these three tenants are void, the stability of success is eliminated. We achieve that preparation through a systemic sales process to bring a project opportunity to us, instead of chase it.

EP #006 - AIA 2019 Interview | Clair Marie Wholean

Clair Marie Wholean AIA, NCARB, LEED AP is our next guest on the Edify Studios Podcast, and we're elated to have her on the show. From designing & selling her own line of African textile pattern Keds shoes as kid - through being musically influenced by her fathers network of musicians like: Phish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. Of which eventually showed her that the path to make money balanced with purpose was to return to her ancestral roots and become an architect. Clair Marie introduces us to how her training at SOM | Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP & Smith Group, in their NYC offices, honed her skills - working in the Technical Group at SOM & on Public Works projects at SG - she discovered the finer parts of architecture. She shares her experience of working for these larger architecture firms, of which motivated her to open her newest venture of Archfina & Archneura, ultimately creating & implementing her 'Why' - The Building Quality Index (BQI).

EP #002 - Design Assist | The Process

Join us for the next episode in the ‘Design Assist’ podcast series, as we address ‘The Process’. The path that is traveled by few, and documented by even less than those who travel it. As we continue to explore 'The Process' within Design Assist, we discuss the traditional buyout method of a commercial project and reverse engineer it, to extract the value of driving the 3 D's: Design Intent, Dollars & Dates. We challenge the traditional path by asking for the key stakeholder, in both Engineering and Project Management, that will execute the project to become engaged from the beginning, instead of being handed a bucket of money and a hap hazard schedule to execute a project. We understand 'The Process' as (Knowing the game): From the pre-construction phase through the installation phase of the project. We openly invite you to comment, question & share this episode with your colleagues, fellow industry professional, etc....and join us at www.edify-studios.com

Episode #000 - THE INTRO

Join hosts Brad Glauser and Brad Walker as they introduce you to Edify Studios! Here in episode one & the launch their first podcast 'The Brads' share their individual path's that allowed them to come together to create Edify Studios & discuss how they are disrupting the status quo of shifting architectural concepts into solutions. They offer a fresh perspective and broad range of experiences to the Pacific Northwest - market awareness, influencer network, project type and product solutions. Their hyper-focused industry knowledge and tactical sales strategy has proven that it’s one thing to sell a product; it’s another to have done it successfully as measured with profitable growth and customer depth & retention. They believe that the value in Architectural Representation has depleted to a level that is unacceptable, especially in today's commercial construction marketplace where liability and risk is managed impeccably by contractors, developers and subcontractors. And through this they are challenging the industry to demand more from the manufactures. By more they mean: More Education & Training More Design Assistance More Major league level Consulting
